Police seek assistance to find John Arthur Edwards

Police are seeking assistance in locating John Arthur Edwards (pictured) wanted for questioning in relation to multiple fraud and stealing offences since March 2008. It is believed Mr Edwards, age 37, is currently driving a Kia Sportage with QLD registration 216JPA (pictured) and was last seen in the Cairns area on August 15. Mr Edwards has been passing valueless cheques in the name of ‘Heavy Mining Mechanics’, stating he works in the mines. Investigations reveal he has been meeting women through the internet and after living with them for a short period of time leaves taking property and owing money. Mr Edwards is possibly armed with two rifles and may be violent. Mr Edwards other alias’s include Chris Bright, Kasey Dean-Jones, Maxwell Johnson, Michael Johnson, Campbell Keogh, Jeff Keogh, John Palmer and Kasey Mathews.
